Chance, Rule and Chain

CHANCE and RULE settings can be applied to automate Scene launching. Only Scenes that are in a CHAIN is affected by CHANCE and RULE. The following is a walkthrough on how to use this functionality, and how these parameter work together.

Chain

The first step of automating Scene launching is to create a Chain. Chains can easily be created in the Scene View.

  1. Tap [SCENE] to open the Scene View

  2. Use the SELECT encoder or the UP and DOWN [ACTION] buttons to highlight a scene

  3. Tap [CHAIN] and the highlighted Scene will be a part of the Chain

  4. Tap [CHAIN] again to detatch the Scene from the Chain

Sequences of Scenes can easily be chained by holding [CHAIN] navigating the Scene list, either via the SELECT encoder or the [ACTION] buttons.

Rule

The RULE parameter determines what happens, dependent on the CHANCE and QUANTIZE settings. There are multiple rules to choose from, offering different behaviours for different use cases.

  • NEXT: Picks the next chained scene.

  • PREV: Picks the previous chained scene.

  • WALK: Picks the previous or the next chained scene.

  • RANDOM: Will pick a random chained scene.

Chance

The CHANCE parameter is a percentage, which will determine whether or not the specified RULE will trigger after the specified value set in the QUANTIZE parameter.
