Connect External USB Drive

Accessing Samples from an External USB Drive

The S-4 can be connected with an external USB Drive to access samples. The drive will be visible in the sample browser and will allow samples to be loaded to the relevant device. Samples cannot be copied from the flash drive to the S-4.

  1. Connect a USB Drive directly to the USB-C Connection.

  2. Tap [LOAD] in DISC, TAPE or POLY to access the Sample Browser.

  3. USB DRIVE will appear in the browser along with the User and Factory Sample folders.

The drive must be formatted to FAT32 in order for it to be used with the S-4. It is not recommended to use an external USB drive via a hub.

We recommend using a fast USB drive and 48kHz 16-bit samples for best performance.

To eject USB drive:

  1. Navigate to highlight USB DRIVE.

  2. Tap [CLEAR] to eject.

  3. The drive can now be physically disconnected from the S-4.
