Sample Browser

Last updated 1 day ago

The Sample Browser is an overview of the samples both located on the internal storage as well as external storage if connected. The Sample Browser can be accessed when loading samples from Material Devices. Other than getting an overview of available samples, the Sample Browser also has an integrated Sample Preview feature, that allows seamless monitoring of any sample.

Sample Preview

Samples can be previewed directly in the Sample Browser, for both Factory and User Samples.

  1. Navigate to the Sample Browser (Open an instance of TAPE, DISC or POLY and tap [LOAD])

  2. Navigate to a sample

  3. Hold [CTRL] to open the Sample Preview Interface

  4. While holding [CTRL], press and hold [PLAY] to preview the sample

Quickly listening through samples in a folder can be done by navigating the list using the SELECT encoder or UP and DOWN [ACTION] buttons while holding [CTRL] and [PLAY] to preview.

Delete Sample or Folder

  1. Highlight sample or folder

  2. Tap [CLEAR]

  3. A prompt will be presented to confirm

Factory Samples is a part of the S-4 OS and can not be deleted.

Handling user samples

To copy, back up, and transfer samples in and out of the S-4, connect to a PC or Mac using the USB Mass Storage Mode.
