# Clearing & Resetting

The **\[CLEAR]** button allows to reset parameters to default, clear applied modulation, buffers, or entire tracks and scenes.

## Clear Parameter

You can quickly reset any parameter on the S4 to its default value using the **\[CLEAR]** button. This is especially helpful when you want to undo changes and return to a clean starting point.

1. Hold **\[CLEAR]** and then turn (or tap) the corresponding **PARAMETER encoder**
2. The parameter will instantly return to its default value

## Clear Buffer, Mods, Params, Device

* Navigate to any of the five devices in the **Device Chain**
* Hold **\[CLEAR]** to open available options

## **Clear Track**

1. Open the Track View by tapping **\[TRACK]**
2. Hold **\[CLEAR]** and tap one of the four **\[ACTION] buttons**
3. The corresponding Track is cleared

## Clear Scene

1. Open the Scene View by tapping **\[SCENE]**
2. Use the **SELECT** encoder or the **\[ACTION] buttons** to highlight a **Scene**
3. Hold **\[CLEAR]** and tap **\[CLEAR]** to clear the **Scene**
