Device Slots & Navigation

Last updated 8 days ago

Selecting a Device Slot on a Track

  • Select a Device Slot by tapping one of the [DEVICE] buttons

  • The selected Device Slot will be lit and the respective Device for that slot will be displayed

Cycling Through Device Pages

Some Devices on the S-4 span multiple pages. The current page is indicated by the page indicator in the top-right corner of the screen. When a Device is selected using one of the five [DEVICE] buttons, it always opens to page 1 by default. If multiple pages are available, you can cycle through them to access more parameters as needed.

  • Tap a [DEVICE] button in succession to cycle through pages 1 and 2

Assigning a Device to a Device Slot

Some Device Slots offer multiple Devices to choose from. Assigning a new Device retains the settings of the previously assigned Device, meaning that devices can seamlessly be switched between without losing any data.

  • Hold [CTRL] + tap a [DEVICE] Button

  • While holding [CTRL], a list with available Devices is displayed

  • Keep holding [CTRL] and tap the same in succession [DEVICE] button to cycle through available Devices

  • Release [CTRL] to assign the Device to the selected Device Slot

Navigating the device list while holding [CTRL] can also be done using the [ACTION] buttons or the SELECT encoder.

Each Device Slot always includes the option to BYPASS that step in the 5-step Device Chain. This allows you to skip processing at that stage.
