Track Configuration


The S-4's four individual tracks have a number of different configuration settings, including options for inputs and MIDI.


Track Input Configuration

  1. Tap [CONFIG] to open the Config menu

  2. Navigate to the AUDIO menu and open it

  3. Highlight one of the TRACK 1-4 INPUT options

  4. While highlighted, tap [SELECT] to toggle through the configurations

There are four different input options that can be configured per track.

  • STEREO: Track receives audio from IN1 and IN2 as left and right channels

  • IN1: Track receives audio from IN1 as a mono input

  • IN2: Track receives audio from IN2 as a mono input

  • SENDS ONLY: This option will ignore the other input options and only receive audio from sends


MIDI Channel Configuration

Each Track on the S-4 can be configured to receive MIDI from any of the 16 MIDI Channels. Learn more here.


Configuring External Audio Source

Different options are available to choose from when it comes to which external audio source is active. These options are found in the Config menu. The input option is configured globally and works across the entire project.

  1. Tap [CONFIG] to open the Config menu

  2. Navigate to the AUDIO menu and open it

  3. Highlight the INPUT option

  4. While highlighted, tap [SELECT] to toggle through the configurations

There are four different input options are available to be set globally.

  • IN1/IN2: Receive audio from line in jacks

  • MIC: Receive audio from internal microphone

  • IN1/MIC: Use one channel (IN1) of the line in jacks, as well as the internal microphone

  • HEADSET: Uses the headphone mini jack (TRRS)


Internal Microphone Gain

The gain of the internal microphone can be adjusted in the Config menu.

  1. Tap [CONFIG] to open the Config menu

  2. Navigate to the AUDIO menu and open it

  3. Highlight the INPUT option

  4. While highlighted, tap [SELECT] or use one of the eight Parameter Encoders to toggle through the configurations
