Both the graphical user interface and the device button LEDs provide clear visual feedback on how Perform Macros are applied to specific parameters. This helps identify which parameters are being modulated at a glance:
A small indicator bar appears on the slider of any mapped parameter, reflecting its current value, if the parameter is modulated by a macro.
When in Mapping Mode, the [DEVICE] button LEDs light up in pink, if a parameter in the device has been mapped to a Perform Macro.
Navigate to a Track or tap [MIX] to open the Mix View
Tap [MOD] or hold [MOD] and double tap an [ACTION] button to open the Modulation Source View of the desired modulator
Hold [PERFORM] to enter Mapping Mode
While holding [PERFORM] adjust the parameter to set the mapping amount
Perform Macros on the S-4 features two modes: UNIPOLAR and BIPOLAR. You can toggle between these modes to define how a Perform Macro behaves. This is done seamlessly and non-destructively, meaning that mappings made for a Perform Macro prior to changing modes will persist.
Tap [PERFORM] to enter the Perform view
Tap and hold a PARAMETER encoder
While holding switch between UNIPOLAR and BIPOLAR modes for that specific Perform Macro
Release the Parameter Encoder to confirm the selection
