The S-4 is a sculpting sampler designed to capture and transform sounds. Merging tape-era workflows with cutting-edge technology, the S-4 redefines sound mangling by providing a futuristic platform for crafting unique soundscapes and compositions using samples and real-time audio processing.
A tool made for sonic explorers, the S-4 has four parallel stereo tracks, each with an audio engine featuring a chain of audio devices including samplers, live granular processing, morphing resonators, and a range of audio effects. A novel modulation system allows anything and everything to be modulated with four modulators per track. Capture sounds on the fly with the onboard microphone and stereo line input, or load samples from the four gigabyte internal flash storage.

4x parallel stereo tracks with a 5-step signal chain for deep sound design and performance flexibility:
MATERIAL – Feed in sound from internal memory, record live audio, overdub, or process external sources. Includes an 8-voice polyphonic sampler controllable with MIDI.
GRANULAR – Sculpt grains with contour, size, and pitch controls using a 4-second audio buffer. Create anything from ambient clouds to glitchy, rhythmic clusters.
FILTER – Shape your sound with a 48-band resonant filter bank, offering classic filter emulations and unique morphing behaviours.
COLOR – Add grit, warmth, or chaos with dual-band distortion, bit reduction, compression, and a built-in noise generator – perfect for both subtle coloring and full-on destruction.
SPACE – Enhance depth with lush stereo reverb and delay, featuring a freeze mode and multiple delay algorithms.
4x assignable modulators per track – Modulate any parameter with LFOs, random sources, envelopes, or envelope followers to create evolving patches and dynamic performances.
PERFORM page with 12 custom macros – Map parameters across the device to 8 sliders and 4 punch-in FX buttons for immediate, expressive control during jams or live sets.
128 SCENES for instant recall – Save and trigger parameter snapshots, variations, or full live-set states. Seamlessly switch scenes via MIDI Program Change.
Mix page – Includes a 4-channel stereo mixer with DJ-style filters and start/stop per channel, and a master compressor.
MIDI and CC control – Every parameter is accessible via Control Change, making the S-4 programmable and automation-ready for studio and stage.
