LFO Modulation
LFO Modulation are preset modulation shapes for creating repeating, tempo-synced movement on the T1. The two options for LFO modulation on the T1 are Phrase, which adds pitch movement, and Groove, which adds velocity movement.
Both systems work the same way:
- Choose a shape
- Adjust the amount
- Let the motion repeat over time
Where Random Modulation creates variation that can evolve and drift, LFO modulation create motion with repeatable shapes, making them better suited for movement that feels recognizable, stable, easy to shape musically, and tied to a specific repeating contour.
Phrase
Phrase applies movement to pitch and is directly linked to the Range parameter, which controls the amount of pitch modulation. It does not replace the Track’s note pool. Instead, it moves through that material according to the selected Phrase shape.
This makes it useful for:
- repeating melodic contours
- evolving riffs
- structured note movement
- turning a small pitch pool into a longer-feeling phrase
For example, a Track with only a few selected pitches can still produce a more developed melodic line when Phrase is applied.

Groove
Groove applies movement to velocity and is directly linked to the Accent parameter, which controls the amount of velocity modulation. Rather than changing which notes are played, Groove changes how strongly they are emphasized over time.
This makes it useful for:
- adding pulse and feel to repetitive rhythms
- shaping accents across percussion patterns
- making steady parts feel less mechanical
- creating dynamic motion without changing the note pattern itself
