Mute
Muting is a performance tool for quickly dropping tracks in and out during playback.
A muted track (Note, CC, or FX) is silenced and will not output any MIDI.
Mute states are stored per pattern.
Applying mutes
Mute changes can be applied in two ways: Staged (default) or Instant.
Staged mute (default) stage multiple changes and apply them together:
- Hold [MUTE]
- Press [VBx] to toggle mute state for the corresponding track
- Release [MUTE] to apply all staged mute changes at once
This is useful for clean transitions, drops, and bringing multiple parts in on the same moment.
Instant mute apply changes immediately (useful while using [TEMP]):
- Hold [CTRL] + [MUTE]
- Press [VBx] to instantly mute/unmute that track
Opening Mute
Mute can be used in two ways:
| Mode | Input | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Momentary | Press and hold [MUTE], release to exit. | Stage mute changes while holding, apply on release. |
| Latching | Double tap [MUTE], then tap again to exit. | Stage mute changes while latched, apply on exit. |
Use latched mode for one-handed mute control in a performance setting.
Mute with TEMP
When [TEMP] is active, staged mutes are deferred:
- Staged mute changes are applied when leaving [TEMP] mode (not when releasing [MUTE])
This enables “build → drop” workflows where TEMP is used to create energy while mute states are prepared, then everything switches together when TEMP ends.
For immediate changes while TEMP is active, use Instant mute ([CTRL] + [MUTE]).

Cycle mutes
Mute can also be used to silence a track for an entire Cycle. This makes it possible to create structured dropouts that repeat with the cycle system.
