Clear & Copy
The T1 makes it easy to reset or duplicate musical material while working. Use Clear to reset tracks, patterns, or individual parameters back to their default state. Use Copy to duplicate tracks, patterns, or parameter settings to one or more new destinations.
The [CLEAR] button also provides the Copy function when used together with [CTRL].
- Clear tracks, patterns, and parameters
- Copy tracks, patterns, and parameters directly
- Paste to multiple destinations before releasing the copy command
- Use the clipboard to copy between patterns and banks
Clearing and pasting are destructive actions. There is no undo available on the T1.
Clearing
Use [CLEAR] together with the target you want to reset.
- Clear a track: Hold [CLEAR] and press a track [VBx]
- Clear a pattern: Hold [CLEAR] + [PATTERN] and press a pattern [VBx]
- Clear a parameter: Hold [CLEAR] and press the desired (KNOB)
A flashing red value button indicates that the item has been cleared.
Copying
Copy works as a press-and-hold action: select the source first, then the destination.
- Copy a track: Hold [CTRL] + [CLEAR] and press the source track, then the destination track(s)
- Copy a pattern: Hold [CTRL] + [CLEAR] + [PATTERN] and press the source pattern, then the destination pattern(s)
- Copy a parameter: Hold [CTRL] + [CLEAR] and press a (KNOB), then select the destination track(s)
The source flashes green to show that it is ready to be pasted.
You can paste to multiple destinations before releasing the copy buttons.
Clipboard Copying
The clipboard is useful when you want to copy between patterns or banks without holding the copy command.
- Hold [CTRL] + [CLEAR] and double-tap a track, pattern, or parameter to copy it to the clipboard
- Release the buttons
- Hold [CLEAR] and press the destination [VBx] to paste
- Double-tap [CLEAR] to empty the clipboard
When the clipboard contains a track or parameter, [CLEAR] stays green. When it contains a pattern, [CLEAR] stays blue.
While the clipboard is populated, the normal clear function of [CLEAR] is unavailable.
Using Clear & Copy
A common workflow is to duplicate a track or pattern before making changes.
For example:
- Copy a drum track, then change only the accents.
- Duplicate a pattern to create a variation.
- Copy one parameter setting across several tracks.
- Use the clipboard to move material between patterns or banks.
Copy first, then experiment. It is often the fastest way to build variations without losing the original.
