Setting Parameters
The T1 is designed for fast, hands-on parameter editing. Most knobs affect the currently selected track. Two important exceptions are Quantize, which is the [CTRL] function of (LENGTH) and applies to the current pattern, and (TEMPO), which applies to the current bank. Pressing a knob shows that parameter on the 16 value buttons, where you can either turn the knob for relative changes or press value buttons for direct selection.
Double-tap any (KNOB) to keep its parameter page visible on the value buttons. Press the same knob again or press [BANK] to return to the track view.
How Parameter Editing Works
There are three main ways to change a parameter:
- Turn a knob for relative adjustment.
- Press a knob to show its current value on the value buttons.
- Press a value button while a parameter page is open to set an absolute value.
This makes it easy to move quickly between rough adjustment and precise selection.
Viewing a Parameter
Each knob has a dedicated parameter page on the value buttons.
- Press (KNOB) to temporarily show the parameter page
- Double-tap (KNOB) to latch the page
- Turn (KNOB) while the page is open to adjust the value
- Press [VBx] to choose a value directly, where supported
Parameter pages use the value buttons both as a display and as a direct editing surface.
Press [BANK] at any time to leave the current parameter page and return to the default track overview.
Relative and Absolute Changes
The T1 uses two different editing behaviors depending on how you change a parameter:
- Turning a knob applies a relative change
- Pressing value buttons in a parameter page applies an absolute value
This applies both when editing a single track and when editing multiple tracks at once.
For example:
- turning (VELOCITY) nudges the current value up or down
- pressing a value button in the Velocity page sets a specific value directly
Secondary Functions
Some knobs have a secondary parameter printed in grey. These are accessed with [CTRL].
- Hold [CTRL] and turn a knob to access its secondary function
- Hold [CTRL] and press a knob when you want to view that secondary parameter page
This allows one physical control to handle two related parameters.
Learn more about secondary functions in the relevant parameter reference pages.
Track, Pattern, and Bank Parameters
Most parameters belong to the selected track, but there are a few important exceptions:
- Track-level parameters affect the current track
- Quantize (the [CTRL] function of (LENGTH)) is stored at the pattern level
- (TEMPO) is stored at the bank level
This means that not every knob behaves in the same scope, even though the editing gestures are similar.
When something affects more than you expect, check whether the parameter belongs to the track, the pattern, or the bank.
Clearing a Parameter
A parameter can be reset to its default value at any time.
- Hold [CLEAR] and press the desired (KNOB)
This clears the current setting for that parameter on the selected track.

Multi-track editing
Multiple tracks can be edited at the same time by selecting more than one track.
- Press [BANK] to return to Track view (if needed).
- Hold a track button [VBx].
- Press the other [VBx] buttons to add tracks to the selection.
When multiple tracks are selected:
- Turning a (KNOB) applies a relative change to each selected track.
- Pressing a [VBx] value in a parameter page applies an absolute value to all selected tracks.
Multi-track editing is ideal for quickly aligning divisions, length, scale, or probability across several parts.
