Time & Pace
Time sets the spacing between repeats generated by the Note Repeater. Hold [CTRL] to access Pace, which changes that spacing across the repeats. Together, they let you set the repeat rate and make repeats gradually speed up or slow down.
Knob Behavior
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Turn | Set the spacing of repeats to a note value. |
| [CTRL] + Turn | Adjust Pace, making repeats gradually speed up or slow down. |
Value Button Behavior
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Push | Set Time directly using the [VALUE] buttons. Use [VB1] to [VB7] for straight values and [VB11] to [VB15] for triplets. Press [VB8] to quantize to the nearest step division, or [VB16] to enable Free Division. |
| [CTRL] + Push | Set Pace directly using the [VALUE] buttons. |
| [CLEAR] + Push | Reset the selected parameter to its default setting and clear randomization. |
How Random modulation applies to Time:
- Clockwise: +/- time within selected tuplet
- Counterclockwise: +/- time and select random tuplet
- Unit: Random Rate
See the Random Behavior Reference.
Setting Time for Repeats
Time sets the spacing between repeats. This determines how fast the repeated notes are generated. Shorter values create faster repeats, while longer values create more space between them.
- Select a Track.
- Add Pulses by turning (PULSES) or placing them manually.
- Turn (REPEATS) to set how many repeats should be generated.
- Turn (TIME) to choose the repeat spacing.
- Optionally press a [VALUE] button to set Time directly.
- Use [VB1] to [VB7] for straight values and [VB11] to [VB15] for triplets.
- Press [VB8] to quantize Time to the nearest step division, or [VB16] to enable Free Division.
- Press [CLEAR] + [VALUE] to reset Time to its default setting and clear randomization.
Using Pace to Change Repeat Spacing
Pace changes the spacing across the repeats. At its centered setting, repeat spacing stays even. Turning [CTRL] + (TIME) away from center makes the spacing change over the course of the repeat pattern.
| Turn | Description | |
|---|---|---|
| Clockwise | Slows repeats progressively. | ![]() |
| Counterclockwise | Speeds repeats up progressively. | ![]() |
- Hold [CTRL] and turn (TIME) clockwise to make repeats gradually slow down.
- Hold [CTRL] and turn (TIME) counter-clockwise to make repeats gradually speed up.
- Optionally hold [CTRL] and press a [VALUE] button to set Pace directly.
- Press [CLEAR] + [VALUE] to reset Pace to its centered default setting and clear randomization.
