Making Repeats

Repeats are generated from existing Pulses on a Track. The original Pulse still occurs, and Repeats add additional triggers after that Pulse according to the current Time setting. Repeats stay within the Note Repeater and do not change the Track’s underlying Euclidean structure, so Steps, Pulses, and Rotate remain the same.

Probability can be applied either to Pulses only or to any note (Pulses plus Repeats). See Velocity & Probability for more information.

Using the Note Repeater on a Track

  1. Select a Track.
  2. Add one or more Pulses using (PULSES).
  3. Turn (REPEATS) to set how many extra triggers should be generated from each Pulse.
  4. Turn (TIME) to set the spacing between the repeats.
  5. Optionally hold [CTRL] and turn (REPEATS) to apply Ramp, shaping how repeat velocity rises or falls.
  6. Optionally hold [CTRL] and turn (TIME) to apply Pace, making the repeats gradually speed up or slow down.

For more information on specific Note Repeater parameters, see Repeats & Ramp and Time & Pace.

Practical Uses

  • Drums: create short snare rolls, hi-hat ratchets, kick doubles, and fills.
  • Melodic lines: turn sparse Pulses into tremolo-like figures or fast arpeggiated patterns.
  • Dynamic variation: combine Repeats with Velocity, Probability, Timing, or Accent for more movement and detail.

Start with a small number of Repeats and a simple Time value, then add Ramp or Pace to shape the feel more dramatically.
