Wi-Fi

The Wi-Fi menu in T1 Config is where you manage wireless network connections and the T1 hotspot.
Use it to:
- view available Wi-Fi networks
- connect the T1 to a saved or available network
- manage saved networks
- configure the T1 hotspot name and password
- choose when the T1 hotspot is used
Wi-Fi Networks
The main part of the Wi-Fi menu shows the available network lists.
These include:
- Hotspot
- Available networks
- Saved networks
Hotspot
The Hotspot entry represents the T1’s own wireless access point.
Select it when you want to configure the T1 to create its own network instead of joining another one.
Available networks
The Available networks list shows Wi-Fi networks the T1 can currently see.
Select one of these networks when you want the T1 to join an existing wireless network.
If the selected network requires a password, enter it in the password field and press Connect.
Saved networks
The Saved networks list shows networks the T1 already knows.
Select one of these when you want to reconnect without re-entering credentials.
Saved networks can also be removed if you no longer want the T1 to keep them.
Connecting to a Network
To connect the T1 to a Wi-Fi network:
- Open T1 Config and go to Wi-Fi.
- Select a network from Available networks or Saved networks.
- If needed, enter the network password.
- Press Connect.
- Wait for the connection attempt to complete.
Once connected, the current network status is shown in the menu.
Available and Saved Network Views
The Wi-Fi menu lets you switch between:
- available networks
- saved networks
Use this selector to focus on either networks the T1 can currently detect or networks it has already stored.
Hotspot Settings
When the Hotspot entry is selected, the menu shows hotspot-specific settings.
These include:
- Network name
- Password
- Apply
- Use T-1 hotspot
Network name
This sets the name of the T1 hotspot.
Other devices will see this name when searching for Wi-Fi networks.
Password
This sets the password for the T1 hotspot.
If you use a password, it must be either:
- empty
- at least 8 characters long
Apply
Press Apply after changing the hotspot name or password.
This updates the hotspot configuration on the T1.
Use T-1 Hotspot
The Use T-1 hotspot setting determines when the T1 creates its own hotspot.
Available modes are:
- off
- on
- auto
Off
The T1 hotspot is never used.
On
The T1 hotspot is always used.
Auto
The T1 uses its hotspot when no saved networks are available.
This is useful when you want the T1 to join known networks when possible, but still provide its own network automatically when needed.
Practical Examples
Joining Studio Wi-Fi
A typical setup is:
- select the studio network from Available networks
- enter the password
- press Connect
- confirm that the T1 shows the expected connected network
Using the T1 as a Hotspot
A typical direct-connection setup is:
- select Hotspot
- set a network name
- optionally set a password
- press Apply
- set Use T-1 hotspot to on or auto
This is useful when you want another device to connect directly to the T1.
Best Practices
- Use a password on the T1 hotspot if other people may be nearby
- Keep hotspot passwords at least 8 characters long
- Remove saved networks you no longer use
- Use auto hotspot mode if you want flexible behavior between known networks and direct access
- Confirm connection status after switching networks
