Misc

The Misc menu in T1 Config contains device-wide preferences that affect how the T1 behaves during daily use.
Use it to configure:
- Quick View
- Choke on Pattern Change
- Choke on Stop
- Hold [CTRL] on Double Tap
- LED Brightness
These settings do not change musical content directly, but they can have a big impact on workflow, performance behavior, and overall usability.
Quick View
Quick View briefly displays parameter values when you turn knobs on the T1.
This is useful when you want immediate visual feedback while editing without needing to stay in a parameter view.
When to use it
- when learning the layout of the T1
- when making fast adjustments during performance
- when you want clearer confirmation of parameter changes
If you prefer a more minimal visual experience, you can disable it.
Choke on Pattern Change
Choke on Pattern Change determines whether sustained notes are stopped when the T1 changes Pattern.
When enabled:
- sustained notes are choked when a Pattern change occurs
When disabled:
- sustained notes may continue naturally across a Pattern change, depending on the musical context
This is useful when deciding whether Pattern changes should feel clean and tightly cut, or more continuous and overlapping.
Choke on Stop
Choke on Stop determines whether sustained notes are stopped when playback is stopped.
When enabled:
- sustained notes are choked when playback stops
When disabled:
- sustained notes may continue ringing out after stop, depending on the receiving instrument or playback context
This setting is helpful when you want stop behavior to feel either sharply controlled or more natural and open.
Hold [CTRL] on Double Tap
Hold [CTRL] on Double Tap makes it easier to perform gestures that normally require holding [CTRL].
When enabled:
- double-tapping can hold [CTRL] for single-handed gestures
This can make certain workflows faster and more ergonomic, especially during editing or performance.
LED Brightness
LED Brightness controls the brightness of the T1’s RGB LEDs.
The available range is:
- 0% to 100%
Use lower values when:
- working in a dark room
- recording video and wanting less visual intensity
- reducing glare on stage
Use higher values when:
- performing in bright environments
- you need maximum visual clarity from the interface
Practical Examples
Performance Setup
A practical live setup might use:
- Quick View enabled
- Choke on Pattern Change enabled
- Choke on Stop enabled
- LED Brightness set high enough for stage visibility
This can help keep performance behavior tight, clear, and predictable.
Studio Setup
A practical studio setup might use:
- Quick View enabled or disabled depending on preference
- Choke on Pattern Change disabled for smoother transitions
- Choke on Stop disabled if you want sustained notes to ring out naturally
- LED Brightness reduced for a more comfortable workspace
Best Practices
- Enable Quick View if you want faster visual confirmation while editing
- Enable Choke on Pattern Change for cleaner transitions between Patterns
- Enable Choke on Stop if you want playback to stop immediately and cleanly
- Use Hold [CTRL] on Double Tap if you prefer more one-handed gestures
- Adjust LED Brightness to match your environment
